PRP Real Assets hires Cole Cook for multifamily acquisitions

PRP adds a nine-year multifamily dealmaker to its national acquisitions push.

Cole Cook is joining PRP Real Assets as director of multifamily acquisitions, Institutional Real Estate, Inc. reported Friday. He will be based in New York, where he will source and execute investments as PRP works to grow its national multifamily platform.

Cook has spent more than nine years in multifamily investment and has been involved in more than $1 billion in transactions, according to IREI. He comes from Gindi Equities, where as vice president of acquisitions and asset management he oversaw multifamily investments across the Midwest and Southeast. Earlier, he was an associate at Ashcroft Capital, focusing on multifamily acquisitions throughout the Sunbelt. He earned a BS in business administration from Ohio State, majoring in finance, and graduated with honors.

The appointment is a practical step in PRP's expansion plan, adding a senior role dedicated to finding and closing new deals. PRP's own language — 'continues to grow its national multifamily platform' — frames this as ongoing, not a one-off hire. It also follows another private real estate appointment The Wrap reported yesterday: ICO Development named Daysi Warren COO and CFO, adding shared oversight of planning and finance. Two hires don't make a trend, but they match a broader pattern of private real estate firms bringing in senior talent as platforms expand.

Cook's path — Sunbelt-focused associate at Ashcroft, Midwest and Southeast coverage at Gindi, now director at PRP — reads as a deliberate move from regional specialist to national reach. That is the shape a firm building a national multifamily platform would want. PRP is staffing for a bigger scale; Cook's last job already covered two regions, and his new one is national. The size of the step up, from two regions to the whole country, will show how far PRP intends to take this expansion.
