Optima Living, Axium Infrastructure and the Desjardins-managed DGAM Global Private Infrastructure Fund have acquired five seniors living and continuing care communities in Alberta from The Brenda Strafford Foundation for an undisclosed price, IREI reported.

The communities are Bow View Manor, Cambridge Manor, Clifton House, Tudor Manor and Wentworth Manor, located in Calgary and Okotoks. BSF's board of directors led an extensive search and selected Optima and its partners on the strength of their alignment with the foundation's values and their long-term commitment to the seniors care sector, residents, families, employees and the wider community.

The acquisition lifts Optima and Axium's jointly held portfolio to 30 seniors living communities across Western Canada, and it is the DGAM infrastructure fund's second investment with the two partners in the sector. The partners said the transaction more than doubles their collective investment in seniors living and care infrastructure.
